Who can race?
The Le Mans series is a Team-league. Still, a team can be just one person. Remember, we have 3 hour races, so maybe you better find a teammate!
Every member of Absolute-beginners may join these races. You don't have to apply for these races. All you have to do, to join a race, is joining the server/host that will be running the race. You need the know the Servername and Password of course. You can find the password at the Passwords / Server-menu at our site after registration.
You cannot switch teams during the league, obviously.
Closed Le Mans-league characteristics:
Pré Qualification: 10 laps on the week before raceday.
2 or 3 hour endurance race.
Car: FXR, XRR, FZR
Maximum of two drivers per car.
Driverchange allowed.
Ballast weight system.
Pitstops and driver changes:
The Le Mans league does NOT have any pitstop windows.
If a team drives one car, each driver has to drive at least 25% of the racedistance. If this has not happened, only half the points will be scored.
Scoring system for the Le Mans League:
This is our scoring system:

Team score
Only TEAMS can score points! If a team drives with two cars, their average score will be used.
i.e. a team scores 2nd and 5th place, the score for the team will be (38+32) / 2 = 35 points.
i - Pole position: Two additional points will be awarded to the driver's team who starts on pole position for the first race of each meeting.
ii - Fastest lap: Two additional points will be awarded to the driver's team setting the fastest lap in each race. If two or more drivers achieve the same fastest lap time each will be awarded one point.
iii - Race leader: Two additional points will be awarded to each driver's team who is classified as the race leader (on crossing the start/finish line during the course of the race) during each race. A TEAM can only earn this point once, irrespective of how many times a driver has led that race.
How scoring will be applied (one or two cars) depends on how teams are present ON THE GRID. If you start with two cars, and one car does not finish for any reason (including disconnects, shift-p, failed in getting 50% etc), the result will still be averaged!
The race results in LFS are the official results, unless someone has been disqualified. To score points you have to drive at least 50% of the race and you must finish of course. If you are not listed on the LFS score sheet then you score no points. This is to prevent players joining the last lap to score points. The results on the website will be updated as soon as possible after a race.
Championship score:
In the end, the best 7 results will count. This means that you can miss a race.
Qualification:
The Le Mans series qualification starts in the week before the race until 24h before it starts. The AB.NL[TST] server will be open on the current combo. Each driven lap will be counted: you can do a total of 10 laps on the TST server. This will be your qualify time. On the raceday we start with the race immediatedly! Current times will be available in the Ablas system LINK
Ballast:
To keep the races exiting, we will introduce a ballast system.
1st position: +42 Kg
2nd: +30 Kg
3rd: +18 Kg
4th: +9 Kg
The ballast will only be applied on the next race. i.e. you are 2nd in race one. On race two you drive with 30Kg. If you are 2nd again, you just take the 30Kg again into race three. If you are 5th or lower, you start with no ballast in race three.
Cars which are registered for the Championship after the first race or those that miss one race will carry a Late Entry Ballast of 42kg at their first Championship Meeting. This will be reduced to 30kg for their second successive event and 15kg for their third successive Championship Meeting. Success ballast is also applicable to these Late Entries, up to a maximum weight of 42kg.
(These weights cán change, we are not sure about the amouts yet)
Medal-system:
We have a medal-system where you can see some achievements of our drivers. The following medals can be won:
Gold medal : for winning a race.
Silver medal : for second place in a race.
Bronze medal : for third place in a race.
Super Gold medal : for winning a championship.
Super Silver medal : for second place in a championship.
Super Bronze medal : for third place in a championship.
Flags:
Always respect blue or yellow flags. If you get a blue flag, this means a faster driver will lap you. Please let this faster driver pass you swiftly and without any hinderance. Don't spoil his race. In corners, you don't have to leave your driving line, but let them pass you as soon as you can at a straight section of the track.
If you get a yellow flag, beware, because in front of you some kind of accident has occurred. If it is necessary, lift your foot from the throttle-pedal, to avoid even more accidents. If you pass someone while under a yellow flag, please be sporty and give him his position back.
Crashing:
If you crash your car or if you get stuck in the sand, you may reset to pits (shift P) and restart your race from the pits. However, you will lose all of you previously driven laps and so you will begin with ZERO laps. It is up to you to decide, if you try to reach the 50% of laps you need to score points or if you retire the race. You always have to finish to score points or to drive the fastest lap.
If you crash, please free the track as fast as you can, to avoid collisions with other drivers. If you use the track map, always look at it to see if there are drivers nearby. Let them pass first before you return to the track.
Help after crash/incident:
If your car is for some reason unable to drive due to damage, landing on your roof after a crash/incident or running out of fuel, then it isn't allowed to let your car be pushed onto the wheel or over the finish line. (In case you would run out of fuel close to the end of a race)
The rules in these cases are simple, when you are out, that's it. You are allowed to restart and try to drive 50% of the laps, otherwise you have to retire.
People pushing other people back onto the wheel or over the finish line will receive a warning and if they would do it again, a more severe penalty can be applied.
Board of trusties:
At Absolute-beginners we have a special board of trusties. The board of trusties consists of a few experienced drivers. What is the function of this? After each race, you have the whole next day to complain about some accident or something else that happened during the race. You can file for a complaint by sending a PM to one of the admins by stating the lap in which this happened and what happened. The Board of trusties will then decide via a poll about penalties. In the "Race incidents/complaints" forumsection you can see what penalty will be given. These penalties are always the deduction of championship-points to keep things clear. We do not give timepenalties after a race.
Board of trusties penalties:
1. - racing incident - no penalty.
2. - warning - no deduction.
3. - mild infraction - 5p .
4. - reckless driving - 15p.
5. - very serious infraction - 30p deduction + possible other restrictions.
+ possible grid penalties +P5 +P10 +pitlane start.
Blue Flag and Yellow flag:
1. First infraction driver will be warned to respect flags.
2. If BF and YF rules will be broken in next race after warning was given - 3p deduction.
3. For not respecting flag rules properly from 3rd+ race - 5p.
BF and YF rules(that part will be released to public):
1. Driver who is executing overtaking must make sure it can be done safely.
2. Lapped driver don't have to let pass in mid corner, he should keep usual racing line and let pass as soon as possible in the section of the track where it can be done safely.
3. Lapped driver must not make sudden race line changes on straight or mid corner, be predictable.
4. On every track in lfs there is at least few places where safe overtaking can take place, if distance between corners is 200m or more this location is considered safe to pass and BF driver is obliged to let pass.
Inactivity of members:
When you join our league we expect a bit of commitment. If you have not visited our site for 30 days then your membership will be terminated. We have rather 20 committed drivers than 50 not so committed drivers. If you can't race for a few weeks, please send a message to Starbert so your membership will not be terminated. You have to visit our site once before every race, because the servernames and passwords can be found at site.
General Rules:
In the first lap of a race it is allowed to vote for a restart. This is only allowed when a LFS or Lapper bug occurs of some kind, for example a wrong grid, or when there is a big crash in the first lap. To have a restart, 70% of the racers must vote for this. After the first lap voting is forbidden and impossible.
We race for fun, so we use our minds and try to drive as fair as possible. We are humans so mistakes can be made, but don’t swear at someone else when you are out of the race.
So don’t spoil the race for someone else. If someone spoils the race on purpose, he will be banned and will be removed from the league.
It’s your choice with what kind of hardware you will race (keyboard, mouse, joystick or steering wheel). It’s allowed to race with the external view and the cockpit view.
It’s allowed to use your own setups, trade or download them from the internet.
It’s not allowed to use a cheat code or some kind of hack to make your car go faster.
If we determine that you are cheating, you will be banned and removed from the league.
It is not allowed to race with a car skin that is offensive, racist, hateful, harassing, obscene,
profane, sexually oriented, you will be banned and removed from the league.
If you have any questions about these rules, you can send a message to Starbert (League Admin)
If you apply for a league, you agree to obey the rules above.
