Hello Racers,

In september the new season of the formula-league starts. If you have any suggestions or ideas about the schedule, you can post it here.

Little bit off topic maybe, but I think we should do something to attract more (new) people to this league. Last 2 Formula League races we had 12 and 13 racers starting the race, and in both races only 7 drivers made it to the finishline. It would be a lot more fun if we could have the grids like we have in current S2L season.

So come on S2L racers, I know you are out there! Just apply for a starting position in the closed league and give it a try. It's not as scary as you think you know

--If everything seems under control, you`re just not going fast enough--

Well I was thinking of applying for this league since I enjoy driving fast cars more than UF1 or XFG
I will do the standard procedure of applying for this league. It is now when I need to say what /1 /2 or /3 I would be? I wanted to go to /2 for the next S2League season. So I think it would be the same for formula league also.
So... see you on track

1. I wouldn´t have that many open wheel combos in S2L but instead only 1 (like BL1-FBM). With the proposed schedule for S2L I don´t see any reason why a S2L racer should join FOR as well since he already has like 5 open wheel races. The thinking behind the 1 combo is that maybe some racers will like it and then join FOR.

2. I would "split" the championship into parts: There are 10 races and 5 (FBM, FOX, FO8, BF1, MRT) single seaters. Therefore every car should have two races directly after each other. This should help newer drivers to get used to the cars more. Additionally we have the increasing speed and therefore difficulty of the cars. This way we get a learning curve.

3. I´m not sure if we should even use BF1. It´s too hard for most of the racers in AB, especially considering the race length and the difficulty of the tracks we used it on in the past. So either less or no races with the BF1 or easier tracks. The amount of necessary training for a race shouldn´t be too high, AS Grand Prix or Grand Touring are hard enough without a very fast car.

Finally: A rough proposal for a schedule:
1. FBM @ AS2
2. FBM @ SO5
3. MRT @ AS1 (not sure about the difficulty of the corkscrew)
4. MRT @ SO1 (Sprint Track, so no pit stops possible)
5. FOX @ BL1
6. FOX @ FE3
7. FO8 @ WE1 (or WE1R, or KY2 if it´s too hard for BF1)
8. FO8 @ AS5 (or AS6)
9. BF1 @ AS3 (not that hard and most people know the track pretty well)
10. BF1 @ KY2 (not sure about that one)

What do you guys think?

Again, I agree with draugdel )
Can't say much to calendar.. But I'd scratch MRT or make 2 races with them at 1 night Doing 1 long race would be painful for cars and drivers

I like the learning curve idea. Thinking of participating, but the reason I did not until now is that I need my time to practice for S2L

I think you should read a bit more Wee's big post made in other thread "Help with S2 schedule". It would made more sense after it
And it would be very great, if you could drop by on IRC and have some discussion about next "leading/direction" of AB (to attract more people, in our opinion )

Sorry Michal, but i really don't have the time to IRC-chat all the time. It's too much time consuming. I have a family, you know... Let's put the For-league discussions in this topic, so everyone can have a say in this.

I am not saying you should be there 25 hours a day. I don't even want you to be active there. Just one-timer session which would be agreed on specific time on which we'll all be available and have a meeting and discuss it. One hour definitely won't hurt your family

Ok, so the next FOR race is on the 5th of September. Is it with FO8 or not? I don't want to waste time practicing with FO8 if we're not using it. And also... is it the new championship that starts on the 5th?
And... can anybody give me a tip for making the car stable on the kerbs? All the time it goes in over revs and sliding on the kerbs.
Thanks in advance. See you all on track

There are 2 more races in actual FOR league/season. (FO8 and BF1 race)
I am not good with formulas, but i'd say you should upshift and lower the revs.. or, slightly lift off foot from throttle
Maybe you can prevent this by (highing?! / adding)the high of monopost.

ps: Is "highing" correct word for making something higher?
