Title says it all, hairpins and chicanes are the bane of my racing life. I lose alot of time on them both and end up with people parking their cars in my boot because i am alot slower than alot of people.

Now before I get the replies "practice practice practice" etc I know practice will improve my driving skills but i have hit a flat spot. When i got my wheel it took me a couple of weeks to get used to it and my PB's on all tracks were improved alot. I am now seeing I am not very competative in races which puts a downer on the whole experience sometimes

Sooooo what I am after is some tips and pointers for overcoming the obstacles

Also how the heck do i deal with idiots on public servers who insist on taking me out all the time? I know i could just avoid public servers but I do enjoy racing with some of my clan members who like a couple of the servers out there.

Any input is appreciated and I try to get on the forums as much as I can (inbetween racing and work), also I am normally on the IRC chat alot aswell

Watch replays from real racing [helps me much], focus on racing lines, downshifting, proper entry, apex... pfew.. learn to brake faster by jumping on and realeasing brake fast _/_/_//_ ...
Replays from WR could help too, but imo, they are not very applicable on longer races..

http://en.lfsmanual.net/wiki/Main_Page -> Section 9.
I think almost everything has been written there. I am going to read it again now

After all, practice practice and practice and think of things you do. + Ask Riel, mazda, ponty, or any faster driver for help... And try to arrange a "meeting" on track with them. That's the best possible way to learn something new

Will your driving lessons include how to make a pitstop?

Growlanator:

Try to use LFS Replay Analyser. Here: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=20056
This tool can help you in setting up your car AND you can compare your lap to the WR lap. This way You will see exactly where You lose time and why! Of course these are "only" numbers and graphs so You need to know how to read them.

This tool can help. If there is someone who can help you online that is better!

Let me ask something: You are using not the default setups, right?

If You are not familar with this tool, just send me a replay of Your hotlap and i will analyse it and compare to the WR lap.

From my experience i can tell you that a lot of training is not enough!! The first thing is a good car setup and then training. I started in the AB two years ago and even though i trained did not get very good results then changing the setup are changed things.
